A custom 3D map gift of a place that matters
The summit they climbed, the lake where you got engaged, the town they grew up in. Frame it on the map and give it as a 3D print with your words on the base, a framed poster or a short video.
Which place would mean the most?
The summit they climbed
Kilimanjaro, Fuji or the hill behind the house. Frame the peak and engrave the date of the climb on the base.
Where it all started
The beach where you met, the lake where you got engaged, the valley where you married.
Home
The town they grew up in or the family farm. Flat places come alive at 2–3× height.
The trip of a lifetime
Patagonia, the Dolomites, Yosemite: the landscape from the trip, small enough to hold.
Their mountain
The ski resort they live for, the ridge they run every weekend, the pass they rode over.
A place they miss
The mountains of the country they left, or the coast where they spent every summer.
Print it, frame it or play it
An engraved 3D print
Print it yourself or send the STL to a 3D printing service. With Pro, two lines of your own go on the base: names, a date, a summit.
A framed poster
A print-ready picture of the model with a title of your choice and a black, oak or white frame, up to A2 at 300 dpi with Pro.
A 360° video
A slow turn around the model in up to 1080p, for a card, a message or a surprise reveal.
Questions
Can I add names and a date?
Yes. With Pro or Maker you can engrave two lines of your own on the base of a 3D print, up to 32 characters each. Posters carry a title of your choice.
I don’t have a 3D printer. Can I still give one?
Yes. Download the STL and send it to a local or online 3D printing service. Or give the poster: download it at full size and have it printed at any print shop.
What size should I print?
100–150 mm across is a lovely size for a desk or a shelf. Bigger prints can be split into tiles that fit smaller printers and line up edge to edge.
Which places make the best gifts?
Peaks, canyons, volcanoes, islands and dramatic coastlines. Flat places work too: raise the height to 2–3× so the landscape stands out.
How long does it take?
The model takes seconds. A 100 mm print takes a few hours on a home printer, so leave a few days if a print service is making it for you.
